Despicable Me is your typical family comedy movie. It utilizes "evil" cute and cuddly alien looking characters along with a disgruntled kind-hearted villain. Steve Carrel does a fair job here and it's more than adequate for a kid's/family movie. If you come into the theater with the expectation of it being a Shrek-like blockbuster, you'll leave terribly disappointed. This movie targets a much younger audience, but parents looking to get out of the summer's heat will probably enjoy it just as much as their small counterparts.
All in all, it was worth seeing with my younger brother and sister. Would I have watched it alone? No. But, if you're a parent with younger children, and are looking for an age-appropriate summer movie, Despicable Me will deliver just that. Enjoy.

A lot of 3D animation movies are coming out and this one is the best one yet. It was very funny in all ways. I love the part of the fart gun. Steve Carell is funny through out the movie. The best animated movie ever made yet.
