So I saw Zombieland the other day, and I have to say I was a little bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie, but it just seemed to be.. missing something.

The plot of the movie is (Without ruining it) a group of four people who meet up in the post-apocalyptic zombie infested USA. They all have their little reason for why they are traveling, Columbus (Whose name you never learn, and is the main teenage boy you see in the trailer) is going to see his parents, Tallahasee is on a never-ending search for the last twinkie in America, and two Sisters are headed for an amusement park.

They each have their fair share of issues, and that is what brings humor to the movie and keeps it interesting at the same time. The idea of the movie was indeed excellent, but something just didn't 'click' for me.

First off, the movie seemed surprisingly short. Even though it's a good hour and twenty minutes long, the plot seemed so static that nothing interesting was happening. It had its little bit of drama and 'boy chases girl, girl has trust issues' type of thing, but no real twist or anything like that.

Second off, there wasn't any real way to classify this movie. It wasn't an action movie, because there really wasn't that much zombie killing, it wasn't really a romance because the romance doesn't really stand out, and it's hard to call it a comedy when the humor more of added to the movie, not defined it. So the theme was kind of 'eh'.

And lastly, it was a little bit too predictable in the simple plot that was there.
[SPOILER ALERT:]
It wasn't that hard to guess that the girl was going to leave Columbus and then he'd chase her and win her back by saving her from zombies. I mean, really. Been done a thousand times (minus the zombies).
[END SPOILER]

So overall, the movie was good, not great, and I'd recommend going to see it with friends because then you can have that after-movie debate on what you would do if zombies invaded. I personally didn't have to pay to watch this movie, so I have no complaints, and if my friends hadn't all already seen it I'd tell them they should. If you don't hype this movie up, it's pretty good, and probably worth seeing.

Hope you liked the review, have fun
