Shorts is by no means a bad movie, but is also not one that will keep and adult, or teenager entertained. This was made strictly for kids, with bright colours, cheap laughs, silly story and every leading character(albeit two adults) is a kid.
The story follows Toby "Toe" Thomson as he discovers a magical rainbow coloured rocks that grants his every wish. This as you can most probably guess, leads to other, more greedy people wanting it for themselves and eventually everyone fighting for it and trying to stop a greater evil.
The story is broken up into a series of different parts, or 'shorts', thus the name of the movie. This is an interesting concept that works pretty well most of the way. Overal the story is quite predictable, but still enjoyable, especially for those younger than say... 10.
The acting is good, but nothing spectacular. Everyone plays their roles adequately, but there wasn't really anyone who stood out amoung the crowd.
The effects were good, as were all of the sound effects, nothing revolutionary by any means, but well suited to the film.
All in all, this is a fun sort of movie, but probably won't keep your attention if you're older than 10.
