When my mom rented this movie, I was like, "Why?" But then when we finally watched it today, along with my parents, it turned out to be really good. Although there is some parts that I didn't get and parts I do get. Like the whole sun radiation thing and the ozone layer, and the what would happen if the radiation hits the ozone layer. I actually learned that from my science class (I can't believe I remember that from my science class, lol). So that part does make sense. Others I can't remember that didn't make sense. Probably one of them is the aliens that came to save Caleb and Abby. I know they were aliens of some sort, but they weren't really developed well for us to actually know what they are and why they are saving the chosen children to restart the human population again. But it's understandable by the end, but they should've hinted at us to what was going on other then them being really creepy guys for most of the movie. It kind of reminds me of that old actual story of men in black (I think taken place in Point Pleasant, WV), and no one knew who they were and what they were doing there. So this could explain to those who know that story of who they are, in the writer's fictional view for the movie. I know I may not be making sense, which is why research can come in handy sometimes for when you go see movies like these. But truly, I thought this movie was really good. The actors didn't seem bad or unconvincing at all (Nicolas Cage, I'll let you go for the 4th time). And the direction was really well done. And the plot could use some work, but in this case it works. So I think it's a rental. I don't know if it's even worth buying, it's not something I would watch over and over. Although I might, it kepted my interest through out the film. I didn't feel bored or tired of it, I was just sucked into it. But who knows, everyone has their different opinions. I like movies with really good plots and if it doesn't have a strong one then it's not the type of movie for me (Dragonball Evolution for example). Well that's about it. I hope you enjoyed reading my review, and if you haven't seen this movie yet, it's worth seeing. But if you're not a big fan of disaster movies or even Nicolas Cage for that matter, then this isn't the type of movie for you. Well I'm out. Later!
