The Express is the latest sports movie to be released and for being in a genre where there is a little bit to many movies, this one was pretty good.
It follows the story of Ernie Davis, who played for Syracuse University Orange Football Team and was the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy, and the struggle that he had to go through to achieve it.
I found the movie to be really good and enjoyable. I usually like watching the football movies that come out and this was certainly one of the better ones. Brown managed to the role of Davis really well, and Dennis Quaid brought a good performance of the Syracuse football coach as well.
My problem with the movie is that the idea has definetly been done before with films like Pride being out not to long ago.
Overall I give this movie a 3.75 out of 5. It is no Rudy or Remember the Titans, but an alright sports movie.
Just in my own opinion though, I would like to see more college sports movies come out in the future.
