This movie is a good example that guns and action can't make a movie perfect. Max Payne is a movie about a detective who's wife and child were killed and he is on the hunt for them. That was the beginning premise, but as we get into it, we find this whole controversy going on that Payne has to follow as well.
What this film suffered from majorly was it's slowness. I thought that the film was boring and dull. There was not much dialogue between the characters and some of it seemed out of place. Another bad thing was the over use of bullet time, not that they used it way to much, it just used it way to long. They had one scene where he was shooting a shotgun in bullet time and it was much longer than it needed to be.
I can't really say much about how the cast did because they were not really saying much. It is disappointing to see that this year is being kind of rough on Wahlberg, first the Happening which I didn't like, and this one is not any better. Hopefully we can see some better films from him in the future though because I know that he is a good actor.
If there was any good things about the movie I would say that it was nice to look at, good visuals. And the parts where Payne was really detecting were pretty cool as well.
Overall though, I didn't have a good time with this and I don't think that it is anything special so a 1.5 out of 5 from me.
