I think when people first seen the previews of this, they didn't know what to react to it. Frankly, I don't care. But when I went to see this movie with my friend on opening weekend, it completely blow me away. It was such a great movie. It had amazing special effects (Ah duh! ILM did it.), and a great cast. Let's not forget the great plot. The most thing that surprised me was Jon Favreau as the director. The surprising part was that I never knew that he directed in the first place, only thing I knew about him that he played in "Daredevil" as Foggy Nelson. And to find that he actually directed "Zathura" too. This guy is unbelievably talented at directing great movies. As for the actors: Robert Downey Jr. was made for the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Jeff Bridges fit the role perfectly of the main villain Obadiah Stane (AKA Iron Monger). Terrence Howard did an excellent and trusting role as James 'Rhodey' Rhodes. And Gwyneth Paltrow, for I never seen a movie with her in it except for this one, did a great job as Tony's secretary Virginia 'Pepper' Potts. And let's not forget about Shaun Tobb who plays the noble and the unforgetable Tony Stark's Yinsen. Great cast and crew for a great movie. The soundtrack wasn't too bad either ("Iron Man" by Black Sabbath, nice choice). This goes on my Favorite Comic Book Movies List at #2.
So if you haven't seen this movie, go rent it now, or better yet, buy it!
