Well, in a few short words, this movie was horrible. Well, maybe Im a little too old to enjoy it, but I thought it was a waste of my time. The main plot is that this raccoon, a ferret, or something (voiced by Bruce Willis) is hungry and needs food. He tries robbing from a bear, the bear wakes up. The raccoon (known as R.J.) freaks out and drops the bears food (which is in a shopping cart). The cart lands in the middle of the highway and gets squashed. Bear turns out to be homicidal. Hooray! The bear tells R.J. that by the time he finishes hibernation (in one week) he expects all of his food to be back where it was, or hed kill him. R.J. realizes he cant do this on his own, and seeks out help. He comes to a small forests of gatherers, which include a turtle (voiced by Garry Shandling), two opossums , a super hyper squirrel (voiced by Steve Carell), a skunk, and five porcupines (two are voiced by Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara). Might be something else, but you get the point. The forest that the gatherers live in has been halved and turned in to a suburban town, where each house looks exactly the same. R.J. proposes to them that they steal food from the humans. This is dangerous, but necessary. The story turns out like any other kids' movie: big triumphs, someone redeems themself, whatever! In the end, the movie turns out to be too short, has a bad plot, and has an OK ending. Maybe this movie is appealing to the younger ones, but how should I know? Younger people (6-8, or so) might like this movie, but being as a teenager, I thought this movie reeked. Younger kids, go ahead and see it, but if your older and smarter, dont waste your money.
