Wh-Wh-What I hated about this movie was the sound quality. There was way too much whispering, and then the music would be much louder, so that when I turn the volume up to hear the dialogue, I get rewarded by a blast of music. Paul Giamatti's character's stuttering was poorly done and made him even harder to understand. The idea behind this movie wasn't that bad, although I had to read a spoiler to actually figure it out. Yeah, the plot in this film is very confusing. It jumps around quickly, with the turns not good enough to be considered twists, as a new element is added to the story periodically and quite randomly. The end result is a horrible fairy tale that I would never want to be told before bed. At least it has a happy ending... I think. In this film, Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) is an average guy running the grounds at an apartment building (although it looks more like a hotel to me). One day, he finds a strange young woman in the apartment pool, and lets her stay with him (no idea why). Calling herself Story (Bryce Dallas Howard), she seems to think that she's from a fairy tale, and warns Cleveland of the dangers in it. She is a narf, a water-person sent to enlighten a specific man -who she doesn't actually know (and who turns out to be M. Night Shyamalan himself)- about how he will influence the world. In her strange reality, grassy (yes, grassy), wolf-like scrunts are constantly chasing narfs (or is it narves?) like her when they leave the water. Normally, there are monkey-esque tartutics that protect her from injustice, but something strange has caused the scrunts to be more vicious, and the tarturics haven't shown up yet! Cleveland and a special group of people that he must find, will have to find a way to protect her as she makes the return trip to her home, via giant eagle. I was surprised that all of the characters, all of them being supposedly normal people, believed the entire story without question. The story seemed really odd and pointless, and I really wasn't impressed at all. Don't bother watching this movie, it's a w-w-waste of time.
