He shoots, he scores! 20 year-old Santiago has always dreamed of becoming a professional Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) has always dreamed of becoming a professional footballer (soccer player). As an illegal immigrant from Mexico living in Los Angeles, that seems impossible. But, when Glen Foy (Stephen Dillane), an ex-soccer scout from England, discovers Santiago, he'll stop at nothing to fulfill his dream. After battling his stubborn father (Tony Plana), coaches, and seemingly insurmountable odds, he finally gets into the English club, Newcastle United. Will the young, but talented Santiago stay with the team? Will he be able to prove himself to a whole new group of men, a new set of coaches, and a new country? See the movie and find out. I thought Goal! was very well done; I end up really caring about Santiago, and hope he'll succeed. Also, as a soccer player myself, it was exciting to watch him play; he has incredible moves and talent with the ball. After seeing this movie, I was inspired to try and be that good at soccer some day, and to fulfill my own dreams. I know if you see this movie, you will be too.
