Well, this movie made a mockery of Christopher Paolini's novel. And, assuming you've read it, you'll agree that this movie was horrible. I had more fun listening to my friend heckle the movie. First, there are so many plot inconsistencies! In one situation, Brom says Eragon will never be able to kill a Ra'zac. About 30 minutes later or so, Eragon learns TWO magic words. The Ra'zac attack Eragon and Brom, and by using ONE word, Eragon manages to kill a Ra'zac. He makes a vine strangle it. I mean... geez! I could have wiggled out of one stupid little vine! Also, the creatures didn't match the book at all. The Urgals: men with face paint all over them. No horns. The Shade (Durza) is supposed to be scary guy who somehow acquired 50 random scars on his face and acts like a fruitcake. The Ra'zac: Instead of being hunched over birds, they're mummies covered in bugs. Oh, not to mention that some of the actors were horrible. Eragon, the young eager farm boy, was replaced by a surfer dude who can't act. Arya, a supposedly quiet person who keeps to herself, comes so close to making out when Eragon, when in the book, Arya specifically states she doesn't like Eragon and never will. Ajihad was also weird. Instead of being a warrior, he turned up being a Jamaican wielding weapons. Odd. The final battle scene, which was supposed to be epic, like the ones in Lord of the Rings, ended up being five minutes, where Eragon and Saphira manage to face Durza, an immensely powerful creature, by just wanting to. Anyway, the movie ends horribly, and there's no way they'll be able to make a sequel, because the film director didn't connect the two books. Arya leaves Eragon alone with the Varden. If by some miracle, they manage to get enough money to make a second film, what's going to happen? Eragon suddenly finds out how to find the elves in the closed-off enchanted forest? Not going to happen. The people who made this film completely messed up what I thought was a good book. Irish Monkey, out.
