I will admit that this was one of the funniest movies of the year. Accepted takes every young person's fear of not making it into colleged and turns it into a humorous, feel-good experience. While we're on the topic of getting into college, I will tell you now that if you're old enough to be out of college (or have missed out on it), you will not enjoy this movie. Designed for the younger crowd, this movie can get fairly ridiculous at times, and if you can see past that (or not realize how improbable the situation is), you will like this as much as I did. Why, you ask, do I say this? Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long) is an average high school student trying to get into college. When all of his applications are turned down, Bartleby finds that not even his parents (Ann Cusack and Mark Derwin) will love him. With some quick thinking, Bartleby hatches a plan to design a fake college named the South Harmon Institute of Technology (the 'distant cousin' of the prestigious Harmon college). On the fake web site, 'acceptance is just one click away'. Unfortunately, that's the one part of the web site that isn't fake. Soon, Bartleby finds a crowd of other misfits and rejects at the front door of his 'college' (a broken-down old mental institute he and his friends fixed up). All of these 'students' have paid their $10,000 admission fees, so the possibilities are endless. See what Bartleby and co. do, see this movie today! The best part about this movie is the character development. We learn about all of these people; why they didn't get into college, what makes them tick, and why we should laugh at all the things they do. We meet Sherman Schrader (Jonah Hill), the only nerdy friend of Bartleby who actually made it into college; Monica (Lewis Black), the popular girl that originally goes to Harmon (the classic change of heart character); Rory (Maria Thayer), the very smart, ambitious girl who failed college because she only applied to Yale; Glen (Adam Herschman), the numbskull that somehow pulled off a '0' on his SATs; Hands (Columbus Short), the sports player that just wasn't enough; and many more wacky people! Hands down, this is one of the funniest I've seen recently. You have to see this movie today; it's an 'explosion of flavor' and a South-Harmon-Institute-of-Technology load of fun!

Well, I'm pretty sure Tusserte will explain this better, but I'll do my best. The movie starts out with a guy by the name of Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long) who was just graduated from high school. Now, Bartleby is just average guy with high hopes (like many people) such as getting into college. But after applying for eight colleges and being turned down by every single one, his hopes are in the dump. Not to mention his parents are going to explode when he tells them. Which he does. The parents throw a fit and are immensely disappointed and angry. To shake these feelings, Bartleby decides he needs to get into a college; a fake one, perhaps. With the help of his friends, Bartleby creates a fake college by the name of South Harmon Institute of Technology (look at what the capital letters spell). With his fake college created, Bartleby has to wiggle out of obstacles like his parents visiting, parent day, and the Harmon college trying to demolish the South Harmon Institute of Technology. Will Bartleby's college survive, or will he be jailed and have the college torn down? Watch the movie. Definitely worth your money. And for the personal review. The movie was great. It had a solid plot that didn't stray, but like with great comedies, it had completely random humor thrown into the mix. I really enjoyed the cast of characters, because everyone at South Harmon was a failure. Well. See the movie. Now.
