This movie wasn't very good at all, but I guess you could say it had its moments (as all movies do). With so many attempts at humor, there's no way that this movie can't have its laughs, although 95% of the jokes are only funny for little kids. I also didn't like a lot of the music selections, whether it was being played in the backgrounds or used for a laugh (a lot of it was hip-hop and pop garbage, including stuff from Britney Spears and Chingy). Looking at the credits, it was funny to see all the stars that made little voice cameos (like Paula Abdul, Terry Bradshaw, Amanda Bynes, Drew Carey, Jay Leno, etc.). The best part about this film was the animation, which was pretty good, in an odd sort of way. The setting is in some weird robot-only town called Robot City. Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) lives in a nearby suburb, but has big dreams for his life. He wants to be an inventor. When he moves out to go live in the big city, he learns that all is not like it seems in Robot City, and he decides to stand up for what is right. This is a kids' film (not for adults), mainly because only kids will laugh, even if they don't understand some of the references (which they probably won't). Definitely rent this film, unless you have kids who have already seen it and like it a lot. Then, I guess the decision is up to you (not that it wasn't before).
