For some reason, this movie reminded me of Serenity, except for the plot came together much earlier in the film (which is a good thing). Yep, comparing this to Serenity, this was better. I have to say, the costumes and the music in this film were great, and I especially loved the soldiers' uniforms. Æon Flux is about the last city on Earth, Bregna, which has survived a terrible disease in 2011, which killed off 99% of the world's population until a doctor found the cure. Now, Bregna is considered the perfect society, and is ruled by the Goodchild dynasty, a group of efficient but ruthless group of tyrants. After about 400 years of this peaceful living, the society is on the brink of destroying itself. All of the citizens and rulers are haunted by strange dreams and visions, and no one knows why. The Monican Rebellion has decided to end the Goodchild succession and try to restore freedom to humanity. Æon Flux (Charlize Theron) is one of the top agents working for the Monicans, and is ordered to assassinate Trevor Goodchild (Marton Csokas). After penetrating the security and finding Trevor, she is hit with a wave of confusion, as she seems to remember him from somewhere. As the movie progresses, Flux begins to realize that Trevor isn't the real enemy, and that there is a terrible truth being kept from the public. This movie is good and worth seeing. However, there is a sex scene between Flux and Trevor, as well as an outfit Flux wears that allows her to be virtually naked, so, maybe don't let littler kids see this.
