This was an incredible movie, but it fell out of style compared to the other movies in the Harry Potter series. I think that this was mainly due to a change in directors (Alfonso Cuarón has replaced Chris Columbus). This movie is very dark, and might be a little too frightening for kids, although it is rated PG. Still, this movie was incredible, though not very accurate to the book (I can't remember why now that I think about it; I'll have to get back to you on that). Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban focuses on Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) as he goes through his third year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this movie, the demented, tortured Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped from his carefully guarded prison in Azkaban. Rumor has it that he is after Harry, the only person that stands in the way of the evil Lord Voldemort returning. The viewer is also introduced to a new kind of creature, the mysterious Dementors, black-hooded creatures (whose faces you never fully see) that feed on peoples' happiness and replace all emotions with fear and sadness. The Dementors normally guard Azkaban, but with Sirius Black on the loose, they seem to be everywhere. For some strange reason, they like to terrorize Harry in particular. Could it be that Sirius Black isn't the main threat after all? To find out, you're gonna have to watch this movie. I must say, the character development was amazing in this movie, especially with the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) and it had a touch of comedy, completing the perfection. See this movie right away, whether you have to buy it or rent it; but the bottom line is: this movie is definitely worth your money!
