Jeez, it wasn't that bad. There were a few inconsistencies involving the whole time-traveling idea, and the violence was a little random (the bad guys attacked people for the slightest reason!). If the concept of time-travel was cleared up, I might even give this movie an 8 (but I guess it's too late for that)! Well, this movie is about Chris Johnston (Paul Walker). His father, Professor E. A. Johnston, is an archaeologist, although Chris prefers worrying about the future over the past. In fact, the only reason why Chris stays on the digging site, the castle of La Roque, is because of a girl he likes, Kate Ericson (Frances O'Connor). One day, the Professor disappears, and no one knows where he is. Suddenly, the archaeology team makes a fascinating and disturbing discovery: a secret tunnel that contains a 600 year-old lens from a pair of modern glasses and a 600 year-old piece of parchment containing a request for help from the Professor. Confused and worried, Chris and a group of friends decide to visit the International Technology Corporation (ITC) to find any possible answers (why he chooses the ITC, I don't know... or remember?). When Chris finds out that a man named Robert Doniger (David Thewlis) has discovered a wormhole that allows people to travel to this same place in 1357 A.D., he realizes that that must be where his father is. He and the other people he's with decide to go back in time to rescue the Professor, but they have no idea what's in store for them. They have to complete the mission withing six hours or stay in the Middle Ages forever. Another complication is that the date they arrived on is the date of a battle between the French and English armies, and they were right in the middle of it! Will they find the Professor and make it out, or be killed? This movie is great to rent, and be ready for some swearing in the beginning.
