This is the second installment in the fantastic (and increasingly dark) Harry Potter series, based on the Harry Potter books. This particular story revolves around Harry's second year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As I have said, this movie is a little bit darker than the first, but still great for the whole family. Kids will find the comedic relief, the computer-generated Dobby the House Elf (voiced by Toby Jones), hilarious, mainly because of the way he hits himself with things every time he does something bad or tells secret information. To adults or older kids, however, this act can get pretty old pretty fast. In The Chamber of Secrets, a few more loose ends are wrapped up, including why Harry was able to talk to the snake in the first movie (it's a special power that makes him a 'Parsel-tongue'). The Chamber of Secrets is a hidden area somewhere inside Hogwarts that a founder of the school, the evil Salazar Slytherin, created before he vanished. The chamber is said to hold a terrible monster, and someone in Hogwarts has found a way to re-open it! Could Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) be the heir of Slytherin, the one who is to destroy all the 'mudbloods' (a slang term for wizards/witches born of muggles, or 'non-magic folk')? You're gonna have to watch this movie to find out. Just so you can relate to the whole 'mudblood' thing, Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), Harry's friend, is considered one as well. There are a lot of snakes and spiders in this movie, but if you can handle that sort of thing, great! This movie is definitely worth your money; and you have to see it, mainly because if you don't, you won't understand the next movies in the series.
