Absolutely, this was a high-quality movie. The acting was superb, the special effects were great, and the plot was mostly true to the story. This movie is about a young boy named Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe). Harry lives a tough life as a orphan who lives with his wicked Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw), Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths), and cousin Dudley (Harry Melling). On Harry's eleventh birthday, he receives a letter that invites him to go to Hogwarts, a private school for young witches and wizards. A swarm of new and incredible information then surrounds Harry, leaving him stranded in a sea of unanswered questions. As the movie progresses, however, young Harry learns that he is destined to be great some day. There is a dark side to this story, involving the Sorcerer's Stone (which is a big part of the mystery revealed at the end, so I won't go into detail about it) and an evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry's lightning bolt scar was actually the effect of one of Voldemort's murders (the evil wizard wasn't able to kill Harry for some unknown reason and ended up losing his power). Now, Voldemort is returning, and Harry must try to stop him... This is a great family movie, except for a few disturbing images at the end.
