Well, this was just an average comedy movie with no real stand-out parts, but it had no really bad parts to drag it down either. The opening to the movie is great, though; it shows people in different cities and what's wrong with them (for example, 'mama's boy.') I guess it's funnier to watch in person, and I can't remember the hilarious ones. Anyways, Elliot Richards, played by Brendan Frasier, is the office dweeb; no one wants to be seen with him or even talk to him. When he tries to ask out a coworker named Alison (Frances O'Connor), she acts as though she has never even seen him before. This calls Elliot to call out for help, which he ends up receiving from the devil. She (Elizabeth Hurley; yes, a girl-devil) makes Elliot a deal granting him seven wishes in exchange for his soul. One thing I did like about this movie was Hurley's wordrobe; each time Elliot meets her, she seems more scantily-dressed than before. Each time Elliot makes a wish, however, the devil attempts to make it screwy (i.e. making him a Columbian druglord when he wishes to be rich and powerful). Most of these situations were funny, but nothing was really laugh-out-loud hilarious. Well, aside from a cheesy ending, the movie was alright, and is worth renting, not buying. Rent it if you have the time.
