At first, I didn't what to expect. My dad said it wasn't that good, and he told me I shouldn't watch. He was wrong, but I wouldn't fight with his opinion on it. After all it's freedom of speech.

So I rented this movie, probably about few months ago, and it was really good. It was so unlike of Jim to play such a serious role. But since I like his performance in The Number 23, I definitely like this movie as well. It was different, it was unique, and had a very well plot too. The characters were so real, and you kind of feel sorry for Truman.

So overall, I like this movie and hope to see more of this side of Jim Carrey that brought the character to life, like he does with every other movie he does. Truly an amazing talent here.

Hands down, thumbs up, one of my favorite movies of all time. By the end of the film, I was in a very good mood, because this movie has the power to change it dramatically. There's a bit of a dark side, but all in all, you're taken for a great ride. The plot, actors, and every factor I can think of, were virtually perfect. In a perfect society, a young man is growing up. However, this 'perfect society' isn't actually a society at all, but the biggest TV show set ever built! You guessed it (well, probably not...), this young man is the star in The Truman Show, a 24/7 documentary of life. Jim Carrey plays Truman Burbank, the main star of the show for the past 30 years, and the only character that doesn't have a script! Adopted by a producer named Cristof (Ed Harris), Truman grew up believing that his shaped world was real, and everyone in it was more than just extras. Now, he is beginning to realize that he is either some sort of god, or someone's playing a twisted joke on him. How will it end? See this film to find out, it's worth every cent. There's a good amount of humor thrown in, although for some parts thinking will be required to fully understand. No matter what, you'll love this film (probably as much as I did), and will laugh and smile the whole way through.
