I wasn't much of a Blade fan, or big on the whole 'vampire' thing. Just because I am just too sick and tired of all of them. There's nothing new, and nothing different in any of them. This...this was completely different than some of those other vampire movies. I never knew that Blade was originally a Marvel comic book. I never researched the character for that information. I just never knew, until my dad told me. So we bought the first two movies. I like them. There were few things that were confusing about it, but I rather not complain most about it. But just to let you know what I thought was confusing, is when Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff) is out in daylight with Blade (Wesley Snipes). Is he a daywalker as well? If so, why did he wore that biker's helmet when he and his gang were out letting his boss burned into flames when the sunrise came up? See, I do notice these things. But enough about that, this movie had a great cast, and great director. But I don't know why there was 3 different directors for all 3 movies. Maybe Norrington went off to do something else creative. I know that Del Toro (Director of Blade II) went off to do "Hellboy", and David S. Goyer was the only one left who done directing in the past (He's director of "Blade: Trinity"). After all, he started this franchise with only a script. And he was great at it too. Heck, he went on to do the new Batman franchise with Chris Nolan, and look how great those turned out so far. All in all, this was a great movie. I know I have been reviewing most of my favorite movies so far, but that's what I like doing. When you get me started on reviewing a movie I dislike so much or I really don't care about, you'll start to think, "Oh, I shouldn't have done that." or "Jeez, this guy needs a life." Yes, maybe I do. But at least I know what I like doing, and I am sticking to some of my favorite movies for now. Until I review something I don't like, be ready.

With cool costumes/weapons and a futuristic-in-modern-times feel, this movie definitely rivals The Matrix (R, 1999)! It also introduces a horror/apocalypse aspect, as this whole film revolves around vampires. Details were very specific and well-planned, as there was actually a 'medical cause' for vampirism explained by doctors (creative, eh?)! All of this and more forced me to pay attention and give me a great experience. And, I must say, I loved it all! In a world of vampires and humans, Eric Brooks (Wesley Snipes) was born to Vanessa Brooks (Sanaa Lathan), a woman who was bitten by a vampire while pregnant. Although Vanessa died from her wounds, Eric was removed from her womb and lived, half vampire, half human. The homeless boy led a miserable life on the streets until he was thirteen, when he was found by Abraham Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), a mad scientist bent on killing vampires after his family was killed. From then on, Eric became known as Blade, a tough vampire slayer, using his vampire strength to protect humans. Using a syrum to suppress his thirst for blood, Blade, now a full-grown, tough man/vampire, hunts vampires (with the help of Whistler) to avenge his dead mother. At the start of the movie, after Blade raids an underground vampire rave, a vampire named Quinn (Donal Logue) bites a hospital worker named Dr. Karen Jenson (N'Bushe Wright), who is saved by Blade and Whistler. After learning that Quinn works for a vicious vampire named Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff), Blade realizes that something strange is going on. Blade has been tracking Frost for a long time, unable to find him, and is now suspicious of Frost's curious interest in a prophecy involving the La Magra, the vampire blood god. Also, the agressive Frost seems to want more power, as he plans to take over the vampire council led by Vampire Elder Dragonetti (Udo Kier). Will Blade be able to stop the coming apocalypse before it's too late? I would definitely buy it. Because it's an action movie with vampires, there's blood and what I like to call 'borderline swearing' (almost too much).
