This movie was an interesting and hilarious comedy written and directed by Mel Brooks. Gene Wilder plays the strange Leo Bloom and Zero Mostel plays the bizarre Broadway producer, Max Bialystock.

_____-----Begin Spoiler. SPOILER ALERT.-----______
Has-been Max Bialystock is a washed up Broadway producer. He doesn't know what to do after his last production was a failure. His new accountant, Leo Bloom, is looking over his books when he finds that Bialystock has a $2,000 discrepency. Bialystock agrees and said he spent it on himself. Leo says thats illegal, and is told by Max that no one will ever know. Leo casually mentions that if one raised 1,000,000 dollars for a purposfully terrible play that would cost only $60,00 to produce once, at which point it would end do to it's failure, then the other 940,000 could be used for themselves. Max thinks it's a great idea, but the timid Leo takes a while to warm up to it. When he does, they spend hours looking through plays to find the worst one. They sure find it! "Springtime For Hitler and Germany". It's sure to be a failure. However, something goes wrong. The actor they cast for Hitler is a flamboyant, loud and strange person who turns the performance into a comedy making fun of Hitler. It turns out great, and the crowds applaud!
_____-----End Spoiler.-----______

What ensues next is nothing but comedic genius! Mel Brooks hits it out of the park in this Oscar-winning film, and Gene Wilder has a wonderful performance. A great addition to your DVD collection, and a classic!
