'They were seven, and they fought like one hundred!' A small and very poor Mexican village is regularly taken advantage of by the evil Calvera (Eli Wallach) and his men, who take all of almost all of their crops and belongings every time they visit. The people have become infuriated, but they don't know what to do! What can mere farmers do against a band of ruthless killers? So, for years, the farmers keep getting robbed until they are finally fed up. On a trip to town to attempt to buy guns, the representatives from the little village meet Chris Adams (Yul Brynner), a professional gunman. They persuade Chris to help them fend off Calvera. Chris kindly agrees and gets a group of seven talented gunmen to defend the farmers. In an exciting, action-filled western, we get to meet a great cast of characters, including Steve McQueen, James Coburn, and Charles Bronson. The Magnificent Seven is a heartwarming adventure that I enjoy watching over and over again.
