Well, this is quite the fighting game. It's hard to get a good score with them, but Dead or Alive really pulled it off. And as with most fighting games, plots are hard to integrate. DoA 4 manages to put in a plot for each character you play, but they aren't totally mind blowing, or heavily enforced. But, hey, it's a fighting game. The plot is just 10 battles per character that leads up to the final battle against a boss (for many, it's an insanely hard glowing... thing.) The final boss usually comes with a cut-scene, which ties off the plot. But, some characters, like with all games, are less important than others, and their cut-scene doesn't make a whole lot of sense. There's also a versus mode, with solo and tag team (and training of course). Versus mode is also online compatible, which can be fun if you want to test your skills. As for the non-combat features, there's a short movie after you beat the campaign for each character, and there's view battle mode, where you can see computers pummel each other. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and with the tag-team feature, there are plenty of cool combinations. (Rellik7778 and I made a pretty good combination that would wreak havoc against the competition.) Not much else to say about this game. If you enjoy fighting games, this is a definite thumbs up. If you're a casual gamer, I'd think about renting it first. Enjoy the highly detailed action!
