Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (PSP) was originally released on the PS2/XBOX in 2005, and 2 months later it was released on the PSP. Luckily this game isn't just a lame throw-away port, the game is actually pretty frickin awesome, and the game doesn't feel gimped at all.

The graphics look amazing, and screenshots don't really do it justice because the game moves really fast. It's one of the best looking PSP racing games to date, only behind WipEout Pure and Burnout Legends.

I didn't pay loads of attention to the story (mainly because it's a racing game), but from what I picked up, you start off in a garage in some city and a mechanic starts talking to you. After a bit of jibber-jabber from those two fools, you go into this city and start racing. Racing allows you to earn money which will let you buy parts for your car, which is pretty cool. Then different groups will start asking you to race them, and you'll eventually start to unlock more cities. You can even just roam around in the city and not have to race anybody! There's a lot to do and everyone can enjoy it. Some may like the customization aspect of it, some may like the racing aspect, and some may like the free-world aspect of it.

The music in the game isn't the type of music that I personally enjoy, but many other people may enjoy it. Some artists that're in the game are Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Queens of the Stone Age and Jimmy Eat World. Luckily you can filter the music to only play a certain genre, and I always choose Rock.

The racing aspect of the game is absolutely amazing, the controls feel really smooth and passing people is always fun with the boost you get from being behind people. One feature I like about the game is that there's different paths in the races, so if you find a shortcut and you're in last place, you still have a chance to catch up. Since you always have a chance, it stops you from just restarting the damn race.

Midnight Club 3 is a really awesome game with a great soundtrack, nice graphics and slick controls. It's not just your average racing game, and it's far better than most Need for Speed games.

BUY IT, BORROW IT OR BREAK IT: Definitely buy it. It's at a relatively low price, and has some cool gameplay mechanics. Play it and have loads hours of racing fun by yourself, and with friends!

I give Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition for the PSP a... 7/10.
