Let me start by saying that WoW is a very addicting game.

This game really is a "world". Saying the map is huge is an understatement. I played countless hours and still I have not seen every zone. There are a few major cities and they are very huge and complex. You could spend about an hour just looking around a city.

Gameplay, however, annoys me a little. Sure it's fun to beat on animals, monsters, etc. But after a few hours of killing them again and again for experience (also known as "grinding"), it starts to get boring.

Starting at level 13, if you picked a Horde race, you can start going into one dungeon. I don't suggest going in at level 13, but you certainly are able to. Unfortunately, this means you need a group to go through the dungeon, and they're sometimes hard to get. However, if you are able to gather a group, you can get a lot more experience going through the dungeon than simply grinding for hours. You can also get some rare loot that can either help you money-wise or that you can use.

This is where it starts to get boring. Quests usually involve killing things or gathering things, and usually it's both.

OK, let's take a break from killing and questing for a little while. You can also have two professions, and you can make money with those professions or they can benefit you when fighting. If you picked a gathering skill, you'll probably need to fight some more. Those animals sure are protective of their herbs and ores! If you decide to simply buy the materials instead of gathering, you'll likely end up losing money instead of gaining it.

I may be complaining, but you'll pretty much be addicted regardless, so you'll be killing and killing in hopes to get your level 20 mount or new weapons or armour you have your eyes on. This game really is that addicting.

As for the graphics, some people complain that they're too cartoony. Some say the graphics are bad, some say they're good (compared to a game like RuneScape (http://www.runescape.com), they certainly are good). After seeing other MMORPG graphics, I'll say the graphics are decent. If you see a game like Aion (http://aiononline.com), you'll probably think WoW graphics are bad.

I haven't read the lore, but I know it's there. The quests also have plots. For that I'd rate the plot as great. However, it's not needed to play the game at all.

All in all, this game is worth a try if you ever feel like it. Just don't blame me if you become addicted and lose friendships, health, your job, and your life.

Having played WoW for more then 3 years, i can safely say this game is going downhill. 'Back in the day' before all the expansions, PvP in this game was awesome, and raiding was fun.

Now?

Classes are so imbalanced, it makes you sick. The game has gone from being about skill, to gear.

Endgame raiding is still good from what i have heard though.

The worst thing about this game is leveling and questing.

There is no storyline in this game, at all.

Questing in the game is nothing but "Go here, kill 30 bears, come back, reward, repeat"

It is so painfully boring.

But once you finally hit level 80 and get geared out, the game can start getting somewhat fun.

Because you just joined the game 4 months ago, you really have nothing to compare it to. Therefor, to you, it is still new and fresh.

I disagree, instancing and raiding are the main things that are fun, yes, but PvP is still mostly about skill. Just because a priest cant kill a warrior doesn't mean anything. There is a plot, its just well hidden, If you go through the quest lines, you see a very powerful plot, especially in WotLK. I personally love leveling and questing, and so do many people. Theres also more to questing that kill 30 bears. much of it is a realism thing, you want to kill off something,(their troops) then you go off and kill their leader. You dont analyze the game enough. I have had fun in WoW since I started playing 4 months ago. I have 1 80, and to be honest. I hate doing 80 stuff.

Well, I started about two years ago. First thing I said when I saw the intro was, "wow". Since then I have been on and off in playing. I have just recently re-started. I have gone up to 52 in about a month(from 41) I think. Druid... BOOMKIN(game pun). Anyway, back to the game. Great MMORPG, 8 races, two factions, and 8 classes. Be the master of nature as a druid, champion archer and tamer with a hunter, warrior of the heavens as a paladin, a magist as a... mage, stealthed killer of the night as a rogue, controller of the spirits as shaman, a dark wizard as a warlock, a bezerker with a warrior, and finally, the Lich King's own(game npc) a Death Knight. Overall, if you like fantasy, MMORPG, and lots of options, World of Warcraft is the game for you!

Wow. Get it? Wow. This is truly an amazing game. So, why a 9? Two main reasons. This game costs $15 a month. For a lot of people, that's a lot of money. Sure, some people have jobs, but some of us aren't of legal age to have real jobs. Secondly, after I played this game for 4 months, I realized, it became more of a chore to play, then playing itself. What I mean is, I wasn't enjoying the game enough. It felt like I had to work to level. Once I realized that, I stopped. But, before that moment, the game was ridiculously fun. One of the best games I've ever played, if not for those two problems I mentioned earlier. The plot? Too big, too long to explain. Feel free to spend hours on wowwiki.com like I did to figure it out. The game consists of 8 races (10, if you get the expansion pack) and 9 classes, leaving for plenty of customization. There is so much land to explore, so many things to do, it really seems like a world itself. This is an MMORPG, so you can hang out with people from around the world (and by world I mean Earth this time) and make plenty of new friends. Sadly to say, this game will eat away at your life. Tusserte even tried sending me to rehab, but I managed to stop on my own. This game is addicting (as you have probably figured out), and anyone who has played Guild Wars (T) like myself, or is looking for a game to last them a long time, get this game.
