The reason why I have it is because it's so old. Now, with all the upgrades, this original just doesn't seem as good. But, it still is fun, and downloads from sites kept this game going for me.

Hokay, hopefully you all know the plot for the Sims, but I will give it to you in my point of view. The game is sorta makes you God; you can control all your little men/women and all of their little lives. Let me tell you the pros and cons to this game. For the pros: there's a plethera of expansion packs, there's a lot of fun things to do, you can kill off you Sim if you want, and it's fun being God. For the cons: the game gets boring/repetitive, it's a hassle keeping your Sims happy, your guy is never going to be rich enough for the good things you can buy (so it's a really big waste of time). Even if you get close, you will be bored out of your mind. Also, some of the expansions are a little pointless; if you don't have a fast working computer for the newer games, you'll have to buy it for your PS2, Xbox, or GameCube, and all of those versions suck! Finally, the game can definitely take a good amount of memory from your comp with all the expansions. This game is fun, but is more for the strategy lovers. For everyone who hates strategy, give it a shot anyways!

Pretty good graphics. It's fun to build your house and fill it with stuff. However, actually managing your sim's life isn't really as fun as you'd think after a while. For first-time buyers, the PC version is very different from the game system versions. This game is about building a Sim's life; and you control all aspects, including customizing your Sim/family of Sims, choosing your property, building the house, adding furniture, and controlling your Sim's/Sims' life/lives. When I was obsessed with this game (a long time ago), I enjoyed making friends and then inviting them all over to my house for a huge party, because I would get bored when it was just the single Sim all alone. I don't have any expansion packs for this game, so I can't say which to get. This game is for people who wish they had better lives and want to make a character like themselves have really great ones. It's also for people who like to be destructive and kill off their Sim by starving them or something. I think I fell into both categories...

I'm pretty sure that everybody knows the point of this game, but in case you don't, you get to control a person's (or family's) life; everything from chores around the house to eating to a job. It can get to be sort of a hassle because the Sims cannot really think for themselves. The best part of the game is building and furnishing your house, and it is definitely better with cheats, because it is hard to keep Sims happy without alot of money. Managing their lives is better in The Sims 2, and the graphics aren't phenominal.

The game is ok, and I only say this because my sims are way too demanding. The adults need me to direct them towards the bathroom otherwise they use the floor as their bathroom. Also, the game is impossible without cheats, so surf the web before you buy it.
