Super Smash Bros. Melee is an excellent multiplayer game.

Each multiplayer battle is highly customizable, with different rules and items. For example, a game can be preset to 2 minutes, and whoever gets the most kills wins. It could be set to Stock, where each player has a certain amount of lives. Coins is another fun alternative. When you hit other players, coins fly out, and whoever gets the most coins in a set time wins.

There is also a large array of items you can include in your battles. You can choose exactly which items you want to appear in your battles and the frequency that they appear. From a one-hit Baseball Bat to Red Shells, there are plenty of different kinds of items to spice up your games.

The character selection is greatly improved from the first Super Smash Bros. There are a lot of characters to unlock, each with unique abilities. There are quick characters like Falco, Fox, and Captain Falcon, and there are strong characters like Bowser and Ganondorf.

The arena selection is also pretty astounding. There are very small arenas (Fountain of Dreams), large arenas (Hyrule Temple), moving arenas (Pokemon Floats), and even a 2d arena!

All of that is in normal multiplayer battles. However, there are also special battles, such as battles that give you lightning speed, giant mode that makes the users really big (try using giant Bowser in Fountain of Dreams), small mode, invisible mode, and even camera mode, which allows you to take screenshots of battles.

There are also tournaments, in which you can allow up to 64 players to play. That would be one hell of a party.

Aside from multiplayer gaming, this game also includes interesting solo gameplay as well. There are a lot of Events which range in difficulty from easy to extremely difficult.

All in all, this is a great game to buy, because you can play it again and again and still have areas of the game that are unexplored.

Mele was, unlike Brawl, a big step up from its predessesor.
The number of characters available in this isnstallment was far supperior, as was the map selection. This game also introduced some nice features like the adventure mode we all grew to love, better graphics, and ovrall just more fun.

The gameplay, was, well pretty much the same, they changed the moves a bit, but nothing drastic. If you've ever played a samsh bros game before, you'll know what to expect on the gameplay side of things.

Overall, the game is a good one, and is a big step up from the original. Although Bral is an improvement, for it's time mele was the best thing around.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is simply a great game in general! It's got cool characters to unlock, lots of new, interesting maps to play on, and fantastic special moves for each character. It's a great game to play with your friends and/or family because of all the different special modes and game modes. Because of that, it never really gets boring.

One of the best games, if not the best, for Gamecube. Fun to unlock all the players after campaign and play with friends. Link is the best player to play with. I especially like hitting the sack with the bat. (I never erased Irish Monkey's data [read ahead].)

This game is so great I beat it twice; but only because SilkyBob erased my data. And then he erased it again. Stupid little.... Anyway, the game is definitely worth your money, plus you can play with all your friends using different game variant modes. After SilkyBob erased my data for the second time I just thought '**** this'. I didn't play the game for years, but one day much later, I got all of my characters back (thanks to a weird urge to play SS as much as possible).

Good game, items, and extra characters. A game for parties when you want a tournament. An abundance of characters that have many different moves; Fox for the speedy and Samus for the missile-based. A great game overall.

It's very fun, especially with four players. I also like to earn coins to buy new character trophies. It takes a long time to finish everything, so it's worth your money.
