Rock Revolution is the little brother to the console versions of the disappointing music game, developed by Konami. But is the DS version better the other versions, or is just a huge disappointment?

I played as Guitar, which is really boring. The gameplay's basically Up arrows, or Down arrows come into the middle of the screen, and you have to strum in time. It's really boring. At least in Guitar Hero you change what buttons you press, but this is just lame.

Since notes come in from different directions, some are hard to see, because of where your hand is placed. Plus it becomes really hard to use your upgrades since the notes are coming so fast, there's not even an option where you scream into the microphone to activate them. Also, whenever I do get the small window of opportunity to use them, they seem to do nothing.

There's only 20 songs, so there's not a lot of choice. Although there is SoundGarden, which is for me, the only band worth mentioning. To me, at least. Others include Avril Lavigne and the Foo Fighters.

The graphics on this game, are a disgrace. They look like they could easily be shown on almost any system. They are absolutely terrible, and they barely change. Maybe change the frame 1 or 2 times a second. If at all. Here's a screenshot, just to show you how bad it is:

One saving grace for this game, is that it has loads of choice. You can play drums, guitar, bass, or even sing. I'm guessing that the bass is exactly the same as guitar, so you really only have 3 options.

The drums are decent. There's a picture of a drumkit on your screen, and notes will come flying across the top screen, and you have to hit the corresponding note on the drumkit to score points. It's fun, but I was terrible at it.

The singing is broken, but at least it's there, right? You don't wanna go all out and spit all over your DS screen, so you speak in a relatively quiet voice, then the microphone can't pick it up, or it breaks your notes midway through. The singing may keep you interested for 10-15 minutes, but no longer than that.

So what this game offers you, is broken singing, boring Guitar/Bass, and overly hard Drums... ARGH!

BUY OR NOT TO BUY: Don't buy it. Even if you're a die-hard Music game fan.
