Neopets isn't exactly my favorite franchise, so I didn't go into this game expecting much. But what I got was a mix between Puzzle Quest and Reversi. Mind you, I do love me some Reversi.

In this game, you play as a Neopet who's going on some adventure... I suppose. The Puzzle Quest portion of the game, is basically a huge map screen where you can go to different areas. Except you don't really do anything in the areas. The only place where you can go where you can actually do something, is the mission itself, so the map screen is absolutely pointless.

The Reversi part of the game, is where you play Reversi against CPU Neopets. The board isn't always a square either, later on in the game parts of the board start getting blacked out so you have to play strategically. The game isn't just simple Reversi either, you get bonuses that're called pet-pets, which let you do things to the board to help you. They can lock your pieces in place, let you go twice, or change the color of some pieces.

The main reason why most people will buying this game though, is the codes you can get which will unlock items in the online Neopets game. I don't have a Neopets account, but if somebody does have one and is really into it, I can see them buying this game cheap, and playing it just for the codes.

The game itself is actually really cheap, according to a quick search on Google, the game can be bought on the DS for $9. That's insanely cheap for a relatively new DS game. The game isn't even that short either, it'll easily last you at least 5 hours, that's how far I got into it at least, and I was nowhere near the end.

BUY IT, BORROW IT OR BREAK IT? I'd say Break it if you're a regular gamer, but if you're a huge fan of Neopets, you should give it a Rent so you can get some codes for the online game.

I give Neopets Puzzle Adventure for the Nintendo DS a.... 5/10.
