Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and now this? Well, even though it's not much of an improvement over the other games in the series, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Well, even though it's similar to past games, what makes this game worth your money?
Traveller's Tales have done a great job in making this game a lasting experience. With all the unlockable characters, mini-games, and secret areas, this game's sure to get you coming back for more. Though not as glossy as the console versions, it offers 30 more characters to unlock, and it has an extra mini-game.
I'll admit, I have OCD when I'm gaming. I like to complete literally EVERYTHING. I collect every coin/stud, go to every secret area, unlock every character, and do all the missions. And because I'm so obsessive, I played for countless hours without even realizing it. If you're like me, and love to unlock everything in games, it's certainly for you.
If you can rely on one thing from the Lego games, it's the Level designs. Even though the game is aimed towards kids, some of the designs are ridiculously hard to figure out. But if the kids have enough patience to get through these levels, they're treated to incredible level design, which really makes you think in order to pass them.
A few small things hold this game back though. Examples include not being able to skip cutscenes, which can get boring, since there's no dialogue. The touchscreen feels forced, which makes you have to get out your stylus to touch something once or twice, then put it back in, which is REALLY annoying. As I've mentioned before, some of the level designs are VERY hard. Even though I'm nit-picking, these things still should've been addressed.
Even though there's bad points, there's enough great points to level it out. So, is it worth your money?
BUY OR NOT BUY: Buy if you've enjoyed previous Lego games, or if you love Batman.
