31 Game Reviews
The original Guitar Hero: On Tour got average reviews from critics, getting an average MetaScore of 71/100. But On Tour Decades has made that figure higher, sporting 80/100. So what exactly makes this game better than the original?
Well, there's loads of little things that really make this game awesome. It includes 2 characters from the Guitar Hero franchise that weren't in the last game, there's more songs, more guitars, more outfits, and overall, it's just a better game.
There's loads of songs that everybody would know, some of the better songs include:
"We are the Champions" by Queen
"The Pretender" by the Foo Fighters
"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World
"Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz
"La Bamba" by Los Lobos
"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
"You Give Love, A Bad Name" by Bon Jovi
"Any Way you Want It" by Journey
"Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
"All Right Now" by Free
All of these songs are great, and there are a few more that I enjoyed, but not that everybody would enjoy.
Also, some of the songs on this game are BRUTALLY hard! In particular, The Pretender by the Foo Fighters. I can get 5 stars on Hard, but I can't even beat it on Expert! I mean, goddammit. What a difficulty curve!
I still always play as Clive Winston in On Tour, and Izzy Sparks in the console Guitar Heros. They really should add Izzy Sparks and Xavier Stone to the selection if they made a 3rd game in the series. Wow, 3? That would be amazing.
Also, just incase you didn't know, your old Guitar Hero: On Tour grip is compatible with On Tour: Decades, and vice versa. So you save a bit of money there if you don't want to buy 2 grips.
BUY OR NOT TO BUY: On Tour: Decades does everything On Tour did, but improved on it. Buy it.
